The Essenes
(…) The Essene community, which was mentioned in ancient texts, became the object of greater public interest with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Essenes were members of a Jewish sect viewed with suspicion by their contemporaries and perhaps with envy because of their special abilities. They lived in isolated communities with strict rules, and they were thought of as a select minority. However, it is important to add that they did not act in an elitist manner toward their fellow citizens.
They called themselves “Jalad” which means “Children of Light.” There were diverse spiritual groups within the Essene communities reflecting differences of opinion related to policy, the use of force to impose ideas, beliefs about reincarnation and the practice of celibacy.
It was among the Essenes that this ancient Atlantean legacy was found. The secret wisdom of Atlantis had been disseminated throughout the world and preserved in various cultures including the mystery schools and initiation temples of ancient Egypt. From there it was transmitted to the spiritual founder of the Essenes, “the Teacher of Righteousness.” With the help of these ancient secrets, the Essenes, who were ancient Atlantean souls themselves, took on the task of creating an educational system capable of preparing the Messiah for his mission because they knew that he would be born in their community. In the Jewish tradition the Messiah was not only going to be “the Redeemer,” as he would be thought of in Christianity, but he would also be the legitimate heir to the throne of Israel. Through maternal lineage Jesus was a direct descendant of the royal dynasty of David, which gave him the right to the throne; moreover, he was anointed as king. For this reason, Herod, who had been appointed by Rome, was so afraid he would lose his throne that he married a Maccabean princess to make sure that his rights to the throne prevailed.
The Essenes knew about these circumstances and did everything possible to ensure that the Messiah received the proper education in a safe and secure environment. In light of the massacre of all the male children in Bethlehem there were clearly good reasons to provide this security. For this reason, the Essenes maintained a certain distance from other Jews. They lived in rural communities, had their own rules and operated their own schools like the famous one at Qumran. Heliopolis was the site of another Essene school in Egypt. Although there were ties between the Essenes in Qumran and in Egypt, those in Egypt went by a different name, "Therapeutae".
The Essene community adopted the Atlantean system of angelic communion, and they communicated with the twelve angels of the ancient Atlantean kingdom. For six days of the week, the Essenes communicated each morning with the angels of the Earthly Mother and each afternoon with the angels of the Heavenly Father. On the Sabbath day, which began on Friday evening and continued until Saturday at sunset, they communicated with the Heavenly Father and the Earthly Mother.
They classified the angels under the Heavenly Father and the Earthly Mother (see the chapter on “The Royal Angels”) based on their understanding of the cosmic principle of masculine and feminine energy. This principle is found in many different cultures such as in the Chinese symbol of Yin and Yang. In the ancient Essene texts we find then, not only the “Our Father” but also the “Our Mother” and the “Our Father-Mother” prayers.
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Our Mother, You who art our earth, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in us as it is in thee. And as Thou sendest everyday the angels, send them also to us. Forgive us our sins, as we must atone for all our sins against Thee. And lead us not into sickness, but deliver us from all evil. For Thine is the Earth, the body and health. Amen.
Our Father-Mother, who art above us and in us, hallowed be the name of Thy double Trinity (Father-Son-Holy Spirit, Mother-Children-Life). Thy Kingdom of wisdom, love and harmony come, Thy will be done in Heaven as it is on Earth. Give us this day Thy holy bread and the fruit of the vine of life. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive those who have debts against us. Pour out Thy goodness on us so that we can imitate Thy acts. In the hour of temptation deliver us from evil because Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
The Essenes believed that peace had seven different aspects, and everyday at noon they meditated on one of them:
Friday at noon Peace with the body
Saturday Peace with the Kingdom of Heaven
Sunday Peace with the Kingdom of Earth
Monday Peace with the cosmos
Tuesday Peace with humanity
Wednesday Peace with family and relatives
Thursday Peace with the Spirit
Due to their constant contact with the angels, the Essenes had the capacity to do extraordinary things such as spiritual healing and to work in profound communion with plants and animals. They had completely overcome the problems of health and aging. In fact they were even able to overcome the force of gravity, as the Atlanteans had been able to do. “Miracles” such as these naturally provoked the envy of other spiritual groups, and in particular, the Scribes and Pharisees.
They operated inns in different places where travelers could stay and where they treated the sick. These inns were also resting-places for Jesus and the great multitudes that followed him when they went on pilgrimages. Likewise, they had stores and merchant ships that they used for trade with the countries known at that time. All of the profits were for the benefit of the community, and the stores provided them with all their clothing and daily necessities free of charge.
In the times of Jesus, Qumran was still an active center. However, the parents of especially gifted young Essenes, like Jesus, would send their children to study at Carmel. The school at Carmel belonged to the Nazarenes, another Essene group. In the Bible translations, Jesus is erroneously called Jesus of Nazareth, but in fact the town of Nazareth did not exist until some time in the 3rd century (CE). The correct translation of the original texts should be Joshua, the Nazarene. The Nazarene Essenes were not militant, and they did not practice celibacy. This is a good place to add that the Biblical texts say that Jesus’ father was a carpenter and that Jesus had also learned this trade. However, the word that corresponded to carpenter also meant teacher, and with this new translation it becomes more evident from whom Jesus had received his preliminary education to become an Essene.
